I’ve conducted film scores with full orchestra at GlenGlen Sound Hollywood (Fantasies with Bo Derek); I’ve been honoured by the Chicago International Film Fest for my filmscore Red; I’ve conducted in Rome, Baden-Baden, and Oryol USSR, played recitals in Tokyo and Sendai Japan, and performed in Paris and Shanghai, …. blah, blah, me, me! Happily, my last professional gig was conducting the North American and Asian tours of the broadway show Les Miserables.
I’m currently feeding that new beast in the culture called Virtual Reality. I’ve developed for the Oculus Rift since late 2012. My current projects are in-game 360 (interactive) experiences, 360 stereoscopic 4k spherical-projection videos–all these with spatialized 360 headphone audio for the Oculus Rift, GearVR, Rift CV1, and HTC Vive headsets. In plain English: VR!

Are you the Nick Venden who was music director at Candlelight Dinner Playhouse in Summit, IL? In 1985 or 86 I filled in for you when you took a leave of absence during the run of “Rags.” If I recall, you were working on a ballet project. Anyway – your name came to mind so I did an internet search to say hello. – Larry Shackley
